l just heard on a radio car show last weekend about this very thing.
Problem was the ignition switch, which is not the thing you stick the key into. The actual igniton switch sits further down in steering column, and problem might be bad contacts. Was amazing to hear that one!!
other wise, sounds like heating up of engine causes engine to not start up again.
