Ok, my car starts just fine but when l turn the key on, my axillary stuff does not work unless l have the key setting just right in the ignition. l used to be able to jockey it just right so that l could use my windshield wipers and turn on the radio. Nowadays, it seems that l can not get it to stay. The car stays running but the radio and wipers wo not work.(unless l am holding the lock into the exact correct position)Am l going to have to replace the entire cylinder lock mechanism or is there a way to repair the one l have? A new one is going to cost about 140 dollars just for the part!
l am pretty sure it is the Lock cylinder that needs replacing or repair. That is where the keys go in. That is the part that has to sit just right in order to keep the radio and wipers working.

Basically the guy who owned the car before me had really heavy keys. This damaged the ignition cylinder and now if l want the music or the wipers, l have to hold the keys forward to keep contact inside the cylinder.

l went to Autozone.com & looked up ur car on thier free online repair guides & they have one for ur car.
There r total removal & installation instructions for both the Ignition Lock Cylindr & the Ignition Switch. They sell both parts. The Ignition Switch is $ 49.99 & the Ignition Lock Cylinder ( thats the one with the keys) is a pricey $178.99
But u did say it was the Ignition Switch that was the problem & not the key switch so u can save $100.00 if u have a mechanical friend to install it for you.
