My 98 Olds Intrigue just overheated. l took it in to Pep Boys and they said my coolant is running to my intake and they have to replace the entire new intake. What is an estimate for such a job? They quoted $1,100 for it. Am l getting ripped off on it. They stated it is running over the water pump but that the pump is ok for now. Should l get a second opinion?

l very seriously doubt you need an intake. l would estimate the cost to be about $700. l would definately get a second opinion.

The price of labor varies, and you can plug in your zip code to see what the local rates should be (estimated of course). It does seem expensive though, so get a second opinion for sure!
