i have a 1970 buick 455 will a distributor out of a 350 olds fit if so what do i have to do just change the

gear it has points in it now and l wanna put a hei in it l have a 350 olds and l was told it would work if l changed the gear but l wanna make sure

it will not work, BUT you are in luck, because any distributor off of a buick v8 will work(except nailheads and earlier models)
The olds dristributors are WAAAAAY different, just like chevy and pontiac distributors,... the cap and rotors as well as points are the same sometimes....

No, the 455 is derived from the GM family of Big Block engines where as the 350 is based on a totally different family of design known as the ''Smalll Block''. Parts are not interchangable across these groups.

would be best to buy an MSD ignition system for your BB Buick and save your self a lot of headache.try summitracing.com or jegs.com,,,

Save yourself alot of trouble and buy the right distributor for your hot rod. Jeg is sells an HE l unit for the 455 at $212.00. Here is the number 110-59103. It comes with a new cap and rotor. The HE l will be a great upgrade for the big nasty Buick! Have at it!
