l have a 2004 Saturn Ion and it needs transmission fluid really bad. The transmission is kinda of hidden under the car, but you can get to the dipstick from the hood. My question is .. Can you simply pour the fluid into the samehole that the dipstick is in or is there another place where the fluid is suppose to be put?? l obviously do not know much about cars, but l was not sure if the transmission worked the same way as an engine, where you insert the fluid/oil in a seperate hole or not.

Please let me know so l can either put the fluid in on my own or get it to a dealership.

so make sure my car is running when l put the fluid in?

if you have a transmission dipstick, that is where you put the new fluid in,being careful not to overfill. the motor is running when doing the reading and the filling.be sure not to put fluid into engine dipstick tube.
