l installed a 2'' drop on my car and when l jack up the rear the spring falls out of its sitting spot so when l jack the car back down l have to look underneath the vehicle and make sure when l lower the jack it falls back in place by holding it, im not sure if this is normal but is there any way to repair this?

Should l have removed the shocks completely from the vehicle or replaced with lower shocks as well?

You should change your shocks to eliminate the long wheel travel downward, thus not allowing your spring to become unseated.
(get a shorter shock)
