l get alittle agitated at auto makers that now put fog lamps on cars ,and will come on whenever you turn on the regular headlights . They blind most people as they shine excessivly brighter and confuse the other driver into thinking you have your bright lights on . l located a pair of airplane landing lights , and was thinking of installing them on my truck as fog lamps ,no amber lenses, just plain white bright lights that will reach out .. Are they a good idea ?Some people notoriously point their fog lamps up so as they think they are brighter but dont take into consideration that they actually blind the other drivers , or, turn their fog lamps on just so they can see that extra 1/10 thdistance further ...Not saying I am right at doing so , but , why not if ya think I am wrong ...
I am not trying to blind anyone as l stated, and for them not working on a 12 volt system they will work , you just modify the system ,l already placed them there once .They will not reflect back as thought if you point them down at the ground , or they would blind pilots in the clouds .Know befor you say please ..
l should have put this in your opinions please section , but ,

l say go for it . l drive home 40 miles at 3:00 in the morning every night on I-40 & half the cars/semis l pass have their brights on & do not bother dimming them. No one really seems to have any courtesy for anyone else on the road anymore. Bright lights , riding the fast lane for no reason ,cell phone stuck up their a$$. If u can not beat em join em. l have two 4'' wing landing lights under my reciever hitch on a pretty tall pick-up & when l go into reverse u do not want to be looking at them. Getting ready to put an alley light on it for oncomers who refuse to dim.

Shure, put them under the wing tips as u will get a ticket either way. Those lights r illegal on a vehicle & if u cause someone to wreck because they r blinded by them,,, Well u will have to live with that one.

Edited: Not trying to be mean here but the ''CANDLE WATT POWER'' of those lights prohibit use on an automobile with the exception of off road use only. They r way to bright for road use. As others can testify if u have vision problems like l do & wear glasses to drive, a 9 volt flashlight is partially blinding, especially in the rain. The lenses in our glasses refract light, amplify light & cause us to see 15 lamps where there is only one lamp. It would be impossible for me to see if u came at me with those things on. l guarantee u that if my Daughter is injured in a wreck because of some illegal lights on front of a car, the law will be the least of the drivers worries. l will go to jail over that.

l would not recommend putting these light on.

It is illegal to purposely try to blind another driver. Someone could crash & u would be held liable.

Aircraft landing light r illegal for use on the road.

Most aircraft lamps r 24-28 volts; would not work anyway. The voltage should be stamped in ink on the back of ur bulbs.

And even if u wanted to use them legitimately as fog lamps, u couldn't. The lens is wrong & the light would be reflected right back at you.
