l bought a VS commodore 1996 series Il yesterday, l was driving home and the speedo worked fine. today l was driving and the spedo would stay at 0 and l would have to knock it to make it jump to the right speed.without the hassles of the previous owner..... how do l fix the problem, what could be the problem???

The fault is obviously in the instrument cluster because if the transducer on the trans was faulty tapping the speedo would not do a thing.
There are 3 possible causes:
A faulty cluster earth
A faulty cluster printed circuit
A faulty speedo head
Either way you need an auto electrician or the dealer.
