l just need help on some ideas for performance parts that would help my top end power. Basically my gmc sierras(2000) 2nd gear pulls hard but l hit 3rd and its like my power is all gone so basically ill be beating someone then as soon as l hit 3rd l get passed like if l were to let go of the gas. l heard and LS1 intake gives better top end but not good at low end where a stock 5.3L intake manifold gives better low end but not good high end. l wanna have both high and low. im not a rich person either so if you could point me to parts that arent very expensive...by the way its a z71 ext cab truck. cold my gears be different because l race regular 2wd silverados and there high end gears seem to pull better. Only mods are a cold air intake by spectre speed.
l bought a spectre CAl from my local parts store. l also wanted the k&n but they told me that im basically paying 300.00 for the name and box. Overall its ok for 160.00 u can feel a difference but l would recommend the Volant CAl because l have heard many good things about em and the design is amazing. If money isnt an issue then id say volant but if u want a cai thats good for the $$$ l would say a Spectre CAI.

Your setup sounds really good...as 4 me l got a ways to go and money to save lol...i want a programmer as well...

l got a 2002 sierra z71 with the 5.3l & l would suggest a programmer l have a superchips programmer but dont know how others work, l fortunately bought my used for $100 top end power is awesome when using this cause u can change ur shiftpoints my truck actually jumps forward when switching from 2nd to 3rd to 4th, l also have a aeroturbine muffler on my truck which makes it sound all that much more better, im curious wat cold air intake did u choose im looking to purchase one but not sure which one to buy l hear that K&N CA l r good for hole shots but not soo much in other gears where VOlant CA l has more power around everything wondering what u think l would really be interested in hearin back about it thanks :) & let me know what u think about my setup
